CHARTERING WORKSHOP RETURNS TO BREAKBULK AMERICAS

Breakbulk Events and Media is excited to unveil a special announcement for our upcoming Breakbulk Americas event in Houston. We are proud to partner once again with the esteemed Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS) to host an exclusive chartering workshop.

Following the overwhelming success of our chartering workshop held at Breakbulk Europe in Rotterdam this past June, we are delighted to welcome back Captain Philip H. Bacon, Vice President of Operations at the shipowning group Siem Shipping Inc. and a distinguished Fellow of the ICS. Captain Bacon will share invaluable insights into the fundamental principles and practical applications of chartering, catering to chartering professionals and anyone dealing with chartering contracts.

This intermediate-level workshop, spanning a full day, will delve into a range of vital topics. Participants can expect to gain expertise in major cargoes and trade routes, decipher chartering terminology, understand shipping and market sector nuances, navigate bills of lading intricacies, and explore the advantages and limitations of shipbroker authority.

The session will also feature two networking coffee breaks and a delicious lunch, offering ample opportunities for fruitful interactions. Furthermore, we will dissect the profit and loss dynamics within the realm of breakbulk cargoes, identify key stakeholders in chartering contracts, and demystify demurrage and dispatch considerations across various sectors.

Our previous chartering workshop at Breakbulk Europe set a new benchmark, drawing over 60 industry professionals from diverse backgrounds, including forwarders, shipbrokers, cargo owners, carriers, port agents, and stevedores.
